UL and CSA Certifications

Cavicondor is glad to inform you about the achievement of UL and CSA Certifications.  UL Recognized certification E516141 and CSA 80047012 as a guarantee of quality and high performance of our cables.

UL Recognized Component
Our products gained in compliance with the UL certification E516141 (USA/Canada): • multistandard cables conforming to UL style 2587 and 21098. • core conforming to UL style 10012 and 11008. Main characteristics: • insulation, filler and sheath made of PVC; • temperature up to 90°; • oil resistant up to 80°C; • nominal voltage 600V.	Our products gained in compliance with the CSA certification 80047012 “C22.2 No. 215-10”. Technical features: • temperature range – 40°C/90°C; • nominal voltage 600V; • class I/II; • group A/B; • insulation, internal sheath, external sheath made of PVC. Optional: metallic braid.

Specifically, the UL Recognized certification is necessary to produce cables for export of devices and machineries to the US market, whereas the CSA certification is necessary to produce cables for export of devices and machineries to the Canadian market. The UL Recognized certification differs from the UL Listed because this latter is applied to the end product intended for the user whereas the UL Recognized is mostly aimed to product or system components.

The UL certifications are divided into four main categories:

• “UL Classified”, for articles tested for specific properties, risk analysis and suitability for use;
• “UL Listing Mark” for representative product samples tested and evaluated according to the US safety standards;
• “UL Listed” for products intended for the user;
• “UL Recognized” for the components that are part of a product or a system.

To sum up, the products for which we obtained the UL and CSA certifications are:

• H05VV5-F (with possibility of use in industrial automation, air-conditioning systems, machine tools, etc.);
• H05VVC4V5-K (featuring a tinned copper screen able to contrast electromagnetic interferences and suitable for fixed installation with medium mechanical stress or occasional mobile laying not subjected to tensile stress);
• CONDORFLEX YY (used in industrial automation, having a rated voltage of 600 V and a TM5 oil resistant PVC sheath);
• CONDORFLEX YYCY (featuring a tinned copper screen able to contrast electromagnetic interferences and suitable for fixed installation with medium mechanical stress or salutary mobile laying not subjected to tensile stress).

We from Cavicondor also obtained the UL Canada certification. This allows us to produce cables to be incorporated in devices intended for the Canadian market, both with the UL Recognized Canada and the CSA certification.
